Senior QA Engineer

II. THE MISSION

The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for defining and driving the overall quality strategy across products, ensuring that all releases meet the highest standards of reliability, usability, and performance.

This role plays a key part in shaping QA processes, preventing defects early in the development lifecycle, and continuously improving product quality across web, mobile, and backend systems.

III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze and challenge functional and technical requirements to ensure quality and testability.
• Design, lead, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and exploratory testing across web, mobile, and backend systems.
• Define and implement QA best practices, standards, and processes across teams.
• Lead test automation initiatives and contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test frameworks.
• Validate APIs, backend services, and system integrations.
• Identify quality risks early in the development lifecycle and propose mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate closely with distributed QA, Product, Engineering, Customer Support, Operations, and leadership teams.
• Participate in release planning, deployment validation, and post-release monitoring.
• Own quality metrics, defect analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level QA engineers.
• Ensure the quality of Global YO and YO Mobile products, delivering a seamless user experience.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery processes across global teams. 

IV. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 4-5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including mobile, web, and API testing.
• Strong experience designing and executing test strategies and QA frameworks.
• Solid experience in functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (required).
• Strong knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman and Swagger.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered tools and workflows, including experience testing or integrating AI-driven features (e.g., prompt validation, model output evaluation, or AI-assisted test generation).
• Experience working with Jira, TestRail, and Agile environments.
• Experience with Android Studio, Xcode, Charles Proxy, or similar debugging tools.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (B2+).
• Native Spanish proficiency.
• Experience mentoring QA engineers or leading quality initiatives (preferred).
• Experience in fintech, telecom, mobile apps, SaaS, or high-growth tech environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and release management processes.

VI. GOVERNANCE & EMPLOYMENT TERMS

• Work Model: Remote/Hybrid (Mexico City). This position is primarily based in Mexico City, with flexibility for remote work and potential business travel as required by the Company.
