Remote QA Jobs in 2026: Who's Hiring and Where You Can Actually Work From
Based on 1,054 open remote QA and software testing jobs on QA Job Board, November 2026.
Remote QA jobs are everywhere, but "remote" rarely means you can work from anywhere. We looked at the location rules of every remote QA, SDET and testing job on QA Job Board. Only 14 of 1,054 remote QA jobs (1.3%) accept candidates from any country. The rest are remote within one country or a short list of countries.
So the right question is not "which companies hire remote QA engineers?" It is "which companies hire remote QA engineers where I live?" Here is what the data says.
How "remote" QA jobs are really restricted
| Location rule | Remote QA jobs | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Remote within one country | 917 | 87.0% |
| Remote within several named countries | 123 | 11.7% |
| Remote from anywhere | 14 | 1.3% |
Most of the time, the restriction comes from the company's legal setup, not from a dislike of foreign applicants. Hiring in a country means paying taxes and following employment law there. That is why a US startup will often hire "remote, US only".
Where remote QA jobs are open
These are the countries with the most single-country remote QA jobs right now:
| # | Country | Remote QA jobs |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | United States | 365 |
| 2 | India | 120 |
| 3 | Canada | 56 |
| 4 | Philippines | 45 |
| 5 | Mexico | 26 |
| 6 | Poland | 25 |
| 7 | Brazil | 24 |
| 8 | United Kingdom | 22 |
| 9 | Ukraine | 14 |
| 10 | Greece | 13 |
The United States accounts for about a third (35%) of all remote QA jobs. Those roles also pay the most. The median advertised salary for US-only remote QA jobs is $115,000 per year, based on 168 posts that show pay.
Outside the US, three groups stand out:
- India and the Philippines (165 jobs together): many roles at IT services companies and staffing firms. Some are night or "mid shift" roles that overlap with US working hours.
- Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina): US companies hiring in a close time zone. Many of these jobs ask for strong English and pay in USD.
- Central and Eastern Europe (Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Greece, Portugal): product companies and engineering agencies, often B2B contracts.

Who is hiring remote QA engineers
We rank companies by the number of open remote QA roles in our live list of companies hiring remote QA engineers, which is updated every day. Right now it shows three kinds of employers:
- IT services and consultancies such as PradeepIT (24 open roles), European Dynamics (13), Photon (12) and Nagarro (7). They hire many testers at once for client projects.
- Product companies such as Keeper Security (11 roles, with a median advertised salary of $184,000), Flosum (10), Veeva Systems, Upgrade and NVIDIA. They have fewer openings, but usually higher pay and longer-term work.
- Staffing agencies that hire for US clients from the Philippines, India and Latin America.
The "worldwide" jobs come mostly from small product companies, crypto and fintech teams, and QA service companies. There are few of them and they get many applicants, so apply within the first days.
What remote QA employers ask for
- Experience: only 3.9% of remote QA jobs are junior. 58% are mid-level, 23% are senior and 15% are lead or manager roles. Remote teams want people who can work on their own.
- Automation: Selenium and Playwright are the most requested tools across all QA jobs (29% and 25% of descriptions). See which QA tools employers want.
- Contracts: 13% of remote QA jobs are contracts. Contracts are more common outside the US, where companies hire through B2B agreements or employer-of-record services.
How to find a remote QA job you can actually get
- Read the location line first. "Remote (United States)" means you need US work authorization. Skip roles you cannot legally take.
- Search your own country first. There are 70 times more single-country remote jobs than "work from anywhere" jobs, and fewer people apply to each one.
- Target companies that hire in your time zone. Latin America for US companies, Eastern Europe for EU companies, India and the Philippines for global IT services.
- Show you can work alone. Mention clear bug reports, written test plans and CI pipelines you set up. These prove you can work async.
- Get alerts. New remote QA jobs fill quickly. Sign up for QA job alerts on QA Job Board.
Red flags in remote QA job posts
Remote listings attract scams and low-quality gigs. Be careful when a post:
- asks you to pay for training, equipment or a "certification" before you start;
- pays only per bug found, with no hourly rate or salary;
- moves the conversation to a chat app before any video interview;
- has no company name, website or careers page you can check;
- promises a high salary for "simple app testing" with no experience needed.
Every company in our remote list links to a real careers page or applicant tracking system. When in doubt, apply through the company's own site.
