Test Engineer
Role and Responsibilities:
Full Time position supporting the TESS Task Order filling the test engineer position with some travel. Duties include: system engineering, test analysis, and technical doc support. The position is located at Wallops Island, VA.
Position Duties:
β€’ Either Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree and minimum of 4 years experienceor no degree with a minimum of 10 years technical experience supporting Navy systems experience.
β€’ Must demonstrate experience with US Navy Electronic Warfare systems including operating, maintaining, and repairingcomplex electronic systems for threat detection, situational awareness, and jamming.
β€’ Support all aspects of SSDS MK2 combat system and its peripheral system interfaces installed aboard USN platforms.
β€’ Define and develop rigorous test standards for the T&E USN shipboard, land-based, and enterprise Integrated CombatSystem (ICS) products, software, and equipment.
β€’ Review, test, validate, and verify element-level System Requirements Specification (SRS), System Subsystem Specification(SSS) and evaluate test results, and test trends and implement corrective action as needed.
β€’ Review, create, develop, maintain, and execute test procedures for the conduct of Land Based Engineering Test (LBET),Combat System Integration Test (CSIT), Shipboard Developmental Test (SBDT), and Enterprise Test events
β€’ Test and evaluate new software releases during product development
β€’ Provide technical expertise on specific products, operating systems, and specialized environments
β€’ Establish and maintain test processes and requirements documents
β€’ Report and document test results and enter problems and issues into the Trouble Observation Report (TOR) database
β€’ Configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing
β€’ Collaborate with product management and technical writers to ensure system and user manuals are in synch with thesoftware to ensure that quality is "built in" from the ground up
β€’ Interface with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve problems that cause test failures
β€’ Assist junior engineers in the development of test procedures and actual test conduct
β€’ Generate reports and review documents generated by junior engineers
β€’ Review and study information from suppliers regarding materials and components to be utilized
β€’ May work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers
β€’ Must have a valid driver’s license with own transportation and able to travel.
β€’ Must be able to satisfactorily complete background check and get a government clearance.
β€’ Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
β€’ Must be able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed technical monthly reports.

Physical Requirements:
β€’ Must be capable of working aboard US Navy ships pier side and at-sea.
