The Assistant QA Manager is responsible for ensuring that all equipment and methods used for testing and analysis of raw materials and finished products are established and maintained to provide results in time with high accuracy and precision. He also initiates and leads continuous improvement projects within the department and across other teams when necessary.

Equipment Installations, Repair and Preventive Maintenance

1. The Assistant QA Manager shall monitor equipment installations and ensure that activities are carried out properly and performed within the specified period. Provides progress report for every equipment installation being done.
2. Establish, implement, maintain and improve an equipment preventive maintenance program of all QA equipment.
3. Promptly communicates and coordinates with equipment suppliers and external technicians for the immediate repair of defective and malfunctioned test equipment.
4. Establish design controls and provide compensating provisions should the need arise.

Equipment Calibration, Methods Validation, Test Developments and Proficiency Testing

1. Establish, implement, maintain and improve an equipment calibration program of all QA equipment.
2. Regularly performs internal calibration of QA equipment and coordinates with equipment supplier's technician for the scheduled yearly calibrations.
3. Conducts orientation to all QA/designate personnel in the proper handling of test equipment as well as its operation.
4. Continuously develops test methods that are applicable for quality evaluation of raw materials and finished products.
5. Performs method validation of all QA tests and collaborates with 3rd party laboratories and customers for the correlation tests.
6. Handle the AACC Check Sample Program in verifying accuracy of QA tests.
7. Laboratory and personnel proficiency testing are carried out at regular intervals.
8. Performs measurement system analysis at interval times.

Continuous Improvement

1. Initiates and leads continuous improvement projects within the department and other areas in collaboration with a cross functional team when necessary. Engagement may also extend to collaboration with Universities.
2. Assists and mentors other QA personnel in the development of technical competencies.

Technical Service

1. The Assistant QA Manager shall take part in the investigation and validation of complaints especially when equipment accuracy and reliability is in question. Provides comprehensive reports and suggestions to customers if necessary.

General Tasks

1. The Assistant QA Manager may be assigned to jobs or portions of jobs in areas other than his current assignment in the following situations:
   1. When the QA personnel in the assignment in question is on leave.
   2. When the QA personnel in the assignment in question is out of the work area due to other tasks such as official business trips, technical service field work, attending seminars or training
   3. When the QA personnel in the assignment in question is assigned to do jobs of higher priority.
2.   The Assistant QA Manager shall participate as core group member in any of the company's Integrated Programs
3.   The Assistant QA Manager shall be a member of QIT within the department and may be nominated to be a member of a cross-functional project team.
4. The Assistant QA Manager shall participate in company programs and actively participate in meetings and discussions and come up with suggestions for improvement in the areas of quality, efficiency, productivity, security and safety, sanitation and food safety, environment, waste reduction, sustainability, social responsibility and risk management.
5. The Assistant QA Manager shall assume a prominent role in the implementation and maintenance of systems such as ISO, Risk Management, 5S/GMP/HACCP and Halal.
6. The Assistant QA Manager may be assigned to other related tasks as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.

SAP Support and Troubleshooting

1. Ensure the accurate and real-time execution of tasks related to the process/es they are responsible for, including the recording of information and report generation in the designated forms and platforms (e.g. SAP). 
2. Integrate with other parties/ functions whose processes are interfaced with their processes (to enable alignment, efficient flow of the process, and effective implementation of controls).

FOOD SAFETY:

1. Complies with quality, Halal, health and food safety policy, standards and regulations of the company.
2. Responsible for reporting problems related to Halal, food safety & quality management system to identified authorities.

OTHER TASKS:

1. Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility,  risk management etc. 
2. Performs other tasks related to the job as may be assigned by the immediate superior.

• Licensed Chemist (as required in the Chemistry Law - IRR Rule X Section 46.2 ; IRR Rule XI Section 56)
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; adept at translating end-user sensory perceptions and product experience into objective analytical and numerical test results. Competent in the application of Design of Experiments (DoE) for product and process optimization.
• Wide experience in equipment calibration and sensory analysis.
• Preferably with training in equipment calibration, ISO 17025, measurement uncertainties, SPC, and Gauge R&R.
• Proven ability to lead and work effectively with cross-functional teams; a good team player who can collaborate and influence.
• Results-driven with a proactive mindset in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) for clear reporting and effective coordination across departments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in ensuring compliance with quality standards.
