QA Analyst

Position Description:

We are seeking an exceptionally detail-oriented Consultant who serves as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to support a suite of web based merchandising applications. This individual will possess a strong ability to elicit, analyze, challenge, and refine business requirements while ensuring technical solutions fully align with business objectives.

The systems integrate with SQL Server, Databricks, Azure services, Snowflake, and multiple internal and external web services. The role includes analyzing functional and technical requirements, validating complex data flows, and ensuring accuracy of financial, forecasting, and planning metrics.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Requirements Elicitation & Analysis
.    Partner closely with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
.    Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to fully understand business processes, goals, and pain points.
.    Translate business needs into clear, structured, and actionable requirements (e.g., user stories, functional specifications, process flows).
.    Ensure requirements are unambiguous, testable, and traceable.
Gap Analysis & Challenge Function
.    Proactively identify gaps, inconsistencies, and undefined scenarios within business requirements.
.    Challenge stakeholders constructively to clarify assumptions, edge cases, and business rules.
.    Recommend improvements or alternative solutions based on best practices and prior experience.
.    Ensure completeness of requirements before development begins.
Solution Validation & Development Oversight
.    Collaborate with development teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements.
.    Review technical designs and implemented solutions for alignment with business expectations.
.    Challenge developers when delivered functionality does not fully meet requirements or misses edge cases.
.    Serve as a quality gate between business expectations and technical delivery.
Testing & Quality Assurance Support
.    Define, document, and review comprehensive test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements.
.    Actively participate in test planning and execution, including: 
o    Functional testing
o    User acceptance testing (UAT)
.    Perform hands-on validation of system functionality to ensure expected outcomes.
.    Identify defects, document issues clearly, and work with teams to resolve them.
Stakeholder Communication
.    Act as a trusted advisor to both business and technical teams.
.    Communicate complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
.    Provide regular updates on requirement status, risks, and gaps.
.    Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

.    3–5 years of BA experience.
.    2–5 years of software QA experience.
.    1–4 years of Experience in merchandising, retail, or supply chain systems.
.    Proven experience as a Business Consultant, Functional Consultant, or Business Analyst in a delivery-focused environment. 
.    Exceptional attention to detail with a strong analytical mindset. 
.    Demonstrated ability to identify gaps in requirements and proactively address them. 
 .    Experience working directly with both business stakeholders and technical teams. 
.    Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies. 
.    Hands-on experience with test case creation, execution, and validation. 
.    Ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders at all levels. 
.    Excellent documentation skills (e.g., BRDs, FRDs, user stories, test cases).
.    Experience working in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
.    Experience with data intensive solutions.  Proficiency with SQL and large data structures.
.    Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and proactively identify risks.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $62,900.00 - $139,300.00.
