Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Dynamic Test Manager opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Dynamic Test Manager to lead the planning, execution, and analysis of dynamic testing activities for an industrial manufacturing project within the nuclear sector. This role is responsible for validating the mechanical performance, vibration behavior, and structural integrity of rotating equipment under operational conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dynamic systems testing, nuclear quality standards, and high-speed rotating machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage dynamic test plans for complex components and systems, including vibration, modal, and stress testing
  • Oversee the setup and operation of test rigs, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
  • Ensure compliance with NQA-1, DOE, and NRC regulations throughout all testing activities
  • Analyze test data to evaluate system performance, identify anomalies, and support design validation
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve test-related issues and implement improvements
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for test failures or deviations
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and regulatory compliance records
  • Manage test technicians and coordinate with external labs or vendors as needed
  • Present findings to stakeholders and support technical reviews and audits

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in dynamic testing of mechanical systems, preferably in the nuclear, aerospace, or defense industries
  • Expertise in vibration analysis, modal testing, and rotating machinery diagnostics
  • Familiarity with high-speed complex systems and precision balancing techniques
  • Proficiency in test instrumentation, DAQ systems, and analysis software (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, LMS Test.Lab)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and technical reporting skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Dynamics
  • Knowledge of NQA-1 and nuclear quality assurance protocols
  • Experience supporting DOE or NRC-regulated projects
  • Certification in vibration analysis or non-destructive testing (NDT)
  • Knowledge of cleanroom protocols and contamination control

Other Job Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security clearance. Active clearance is a plus.
