QA Lead
Job Title: Ecommerce QA Lead (Hybrid)
Location: Reading, PA
Duration: 3-6 Months

Job Summary:
The QA Lead is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products through structured testing, process improvement, and leadership of the QA team. This role combines hands-on testing expertise with team coordination and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality releases on time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Mentor: Supervise and guide a team of QA analysts and engineers, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Test Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases for new and existing products.
  • Automation Leadership: Drive test automation initiatives, ensuring coverage, efficiency, and integration into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Process Improvement: Establish and refine QA standards, best practices, and metrics to continuously improve product quality and team effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Development, and DevOps to ensure clear requirements, testability, and timely delivery.
  • Defect Management: Oversee defect reporting, triage, prioritization, and resolution in coordination with development teams.
  • Quality Metrics: Track and report quality KPIs (e.g., defect density, test coverage, release readiness) to stakeholders.
  • Tool Management: Evaluate, implement, and maintain QA tools for test management, automation, and reporting.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in development and release cycles and recommend mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of QA experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior QA role.
  • Proven experience in both manual and automated testing.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with eCommerce testing (eg Shopify preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems (eg M3, Configure Price Quote tools, other)
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman) is a plus
  • Experience using documentation tools like Fresh Service, Adobe FrameMaker, or Notion
