Role Summary

We are looking for a Functional QA Engineer with strong experience in the payments processing domain to ensure high-quality delivery across complex payment flows. The role involves validating end-to-end transactions, integrations, and financial accuracy across global payment schemes and standards.

What You’ll Do

• Assure reliable end-to-end payment processing by validating transaction lifecycles from initiation through settlement and reconciliation across core platform and downstream systems.
• Enable seamless interoperability across global payment rails (SWIFT, RTP/FedNow, ACH/batch, SEPA, RTGS) by verifying network integrations, handoffs, and scheme-specific behaviors.
• Improve straight-through processing and reduce defects by testing ISO 20022 message formats, mappings, and end-to-end message flows across internal and external parties.
• Increase settlement accuracy and scheme compliance by validating clearing and settlement processes for SEPA Credit Transfer and ACH (e.g., NACHA) scenarios.
• Protect financial integrity by executing reconciliation testing, identifying mismatches quickly, and ensuring balances and postings align across ledgers, processors, and third parties.
• Strengthen platform resilience by validating exception handling (failures, reversals, retries, timeouts) and confirming predictable recovery and customer-impact outcomes.
• Support successful bank/network certification and go-lives by partnering with product, engineering, and operations through UAT, defect triage, and maintaining audit-ready test cases, data, and traceability.

What You Bring

Must-Haves

• Advanced knowledge of Software Testing theories and practices
• 4–8+ years of QA experience, with significant exposure to payments systems
• Strong understanding of: Payment lifecycle (authorization, clearing, settlement) And Messaging standards like ISO 20022.

• Strong knowledge of reconciliation and settlement testing
• Should have good skill in preparing test scenarios and test cases and review Test Plans.
• Experience with Agile Methodology, Testing Life Cycle, Defect Life Cycle and Bug Tracking tools like JIRA.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in API testing (REST/JSON, SOAP, Postman, etc.)

• Experience with Tomcat/IBM WebSphere application servers.
• Experience with MQ (IBM MQ, ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ).
• Working with technologies like Jenkins, AWS, Docker is a plus.
• Exposure to build tools like Maven or ANT.
• Exposure to Automation frameworks
