About the role 

Our Lisbon based QA team is looking for an addition to the team. In this role, you’ll work closely with our UK-based Jules Operations Team, as wel as our EBASE development team, contributing to the quality and reliability of our SaaS and PaaS solutions through both manual and automated testing.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about quality assurance and eager to start their QA testing career. Initially, the primary responsibilities will involve manual testing, functional testing, and business requirements analysis.  Other things you'll work on: 

• Perform manual testing to validate the functionality, usability, and reliability of software applications. 

• Execute test cases and accurately document test results, identifying and reporting defects or inconsistencies. 

• Work closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure proper test coverage and alignment with requirements. 

• Assist in preparing test data and setting up test environments to support QA activities. 

• Support the creation and maintenance of functional and technical documentation related to testing processes and results. 

• Begin contributing to the execution of automated tests, with guidance, and help analyze results to ensure software quality. 

• Use appropriate tools to log, track, and verify defects through to resolution. 

• Learn and contribute to code reviews, gradually building the ability to provide feedback on test-related code. 

• Stay informed about industry trends and QA best practices, especially around test automation, to support your career growth. 

About you 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior QA Engineer to join our dynamic team. You have a basic understanding of Java (ability to read and follow code is a plus) and are familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and system testing. Furthermore, you have: 

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• ISTQB certification or similar QA-related certification 

• Good communication and teamwork abilities. 

• Proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and in a team. 

• Comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken. 

• Experience with or exposure to IT service management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, etc.). 

• A strong willingness to learn and grow, especially in test automation and new technologies. 

• Located in Lisbon metropolitan area
