Manual QA Tester with Aviation Domain Knowledge - Flight Deck Application
We are looking for a Manual QA Tester with strong aviation domain knowledge to support the development of a Flight Deck application used in airline flight operations and pilot workflows. This role is a good fit for someone with hands-on aviation experience, for example as a pilot, flight operations specialist, dispatcher, EFB user, or aviation professional, who wants to grow into software quality assurance.
Previous testing experience is welcome but not the main requirement. The most important value for this role is understanding aviation workflows, pilot needs, flight deck operations, and how aviation software should behave in real operational scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of the Flight Deck application across key pilot and operational workflows.
- Validate that application behavior matches aviation use cases, user expectations, and operational logic.
- Review features related to flight briefings, operational documents, weather data, checklists, navigation-related content, and integrations with flight-relevant tools.
- Identify, document, and clearly communicate bugs, usability issues, and workflow inconsistencies.
- Work closely with developers, product managers, designers, and other QA team members.
- Provide aviation-domain feedback to help the team build a more accurate and practical product.
- Support exploratory testing based on real-life aviation scenarios.
- Learn QA processes, test case design, defect reporting, and release validation.
- Gradually develop skills toward test automation, including basic scripting, automated regression checks, or automation tools.
Requirements
- Practical aviation knowledge or experience using flight deck, EFB, flight planning, briefing, or airline operations tools.
- Understanding of pilot workflows, pre-flight preparation, in-flight needs, and post-flight operational processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to notice inconsistencies in application behavior.
- Clear communication skills and ability to describe issues in a structured way.
- Willingness to learn software testing practices.
- Readiness to grow toward automated testing over time.
- Good English skills for daily work in an international environment.
- Curiosity, ownership, and a practical mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a pilot, student pilot, dispatcher, flight operations specialist, EFB administrator, or aviation software user.
- Previous experience with Flight Deck, EFB applications, Jeppesen/ForeFlight tools, or similar aviation systems.
- Basic knowledge of QA tools, bug tracking systems, or test management tools.
- Any exposure to automation, scripting, APIs, or technical troubleshooting.
- Experience working with distributed or international teams.
