Powertrain Validation Test Leader

Role Summary

In this role, you are expected to lead testing activities within the platform, in close collaboration with highly experienced core team members and cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for quality assurance and validation of the complete powertrain platform. The role offers a broad contact network across the organisation and requires leadership skills, as you will be working through and with others.

This role is a part of TRATON Group R&D, located in Södertälje, Sweden.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and align verification and validation of the complete powertrain
• Set and follow up on validation plans based on project risk analysis together with stakeholders
• Identify testing opportunities and balance test needs
• Create and maintain durability requirement documentation for powertrain development
• Collect and ensure test needs for all generations required to reach project targets and acceptance criteria
• Manage durability testing in test beds; plan and ensure availability of test resources
• Lead the development of test methods and keep them updated
• Participate in improving test processes together with other key functions
• Ensure correct performance during testing by analysing data

Who You Are

To succeed as a Validation Test Leader in our team, you need to collaborate easily with and motivate cross-functional teams. You have strong social skills and build relationships naturally. Working through others without being their direct manager comes naturally to you.

You are comfortable working independently, creating structure, and adapting quickly when the day doesn’t go as planned. You are used to presenting your results and balancing time and quality in your work.

Your background is in engineering, most likely with a relevant degree in mechanical engineering. You have professional fluency in both English and Swedish.

This Is Us

As a Validation Test Leader, you will be a part of and contribute to the team for powertrain testing and validation. The team is responsible for coordinating the testing of the complete powertrain, including the engine and aftertreatment system. The focus is on functional component testing and durability testing, both in vehicles and in test beds.
