Python QA Engineer

We are looking for a SDET – Python / Backend & Data Testing to join our growing team in the Canada! 

Location: Canada /Argentina/ Mexico Remote

Position Overview:

We are looking for a hands-on SDET with strong programming and automation skills to test backend services, APIs, databases, and data-driven workflows.

This is primarily an SDET / Test Automation role, not a traditional Data Tester position. Candidates should be comfortable writing code, validating data, and testing complex backend logic.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated tests using Python.
• Test backend services, APIs, and cloud-based applications.
• Perform API and database testing, including SQL-based data validation.
• Validate data flows, calculations, business rules, and system outputs.
• Support regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Investigate defects and data discrepancies.
• Maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and product teams.

Must Have

• Strong SDET / QA Automation experience.
• Experience with Azure or AWS.
• SQL and database testing experience.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• API and backend testing experience.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD.

Nice to Have

• Data pipeline, ETL, or data-intensive application testing.
• Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, or similar cloud services.
• Oil & Gas / Energy industry experience.

Previous Energy industry experience is not required, but candidates should be comfortable learning the domain and discussing how they would approach testing data, calculations, and workflows within it.
