QUALITY ASSURANCE
What We Do
The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with engineering, art, and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.
What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking to expand its art environment QA team. The art environment team is responsible for the quality of environment art assets used to populate the Fortnite BR map. This position owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of a given seasonβs assets, functions or set of work, where you will be part of a rapidly iterating development team working closely with artists, producers, and quality professionals. This role works primarily in Unreal Engine Editor, test and asset management tools.
To be set up for success, the person in this role should have experience with end-to-end feature ownership, test planning, and risk assessment.
In this role, you will
- Work with product owners, artists, asset implementers, producers, and QA management to define and write acceptance criteria, identify risks, and test planning for upcoming features and releases
- Utilize Unreal Editor to plan and test environmental art assets
- Conduct functional and non functional testing, including coordinating testing with other teams
- Proactively manage incoming defects and work autonomously on highest value tasks, embedded in the development team
- Manage high volumes of individual assets, end-to-end, at varying stages of development
- Track and report on quality defects, data, and utilize that information to drive conversations around product quality
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of testing experience
- 6+ months of experience of quality assurance
- Solid understanding of test methodologies and iterative development
- Experience working with multiple disciplines in a delivery environment
- Experience in functional and non functional testing in your domain of expertise
- Experience working within an embedded QA team
Nice to Have
- Experience or craft in art, especially in relation to game development or game art pipeline
- Large data or asset management experience and organization with downstream teams
- Experience contributing to and navigating projects in source control
- Knowledge in one or more of these areas: Game Engines or 3D Software toolsets (UE5 game engine experience a plus), Modeling, Level Design and/or World Creation toolsets
- ISTQB Foundations certification
