What’s the role?

In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.Β

What’s this team like at Etsy?

The Regulatory Operations Quality Assurance team sits within Operations – Payments (RegOps) and partners closely with Seller Verification, Financial Crimes, Compliance, Enablement, and our external operations partners. We are a small, collaborative group that balances deep subject-matter expertise with a practical, operations-first mindset: we care about getting the details right, but also about making our guidance actionable for agents and managers on the ground.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Perform case‑level QA reviews on a weekly basis across SV and FC workflows, grading against standardised QA rubrics.

  • Evaluate whether operational decisions follow applicable AML, sanctions, KYC/KYB and EPIL policies, SOPs and Guru cards.

  • Identify errors, control gaps, and systemic issues; document them clearly, working with teams to find potential solutions.

  • Contribute to trends and gaps analysis, highlighting recurring failures, process ambiguity, or tooling friction with clear actionable insights.

  • Maintain QA results logs and trackers, ensuring weekly and monthly data is accurate and complete.

  • Work with operations to ensure error remediation SLAs and training follow‑ups are met.

  • Support appeals and calibration discussions by explaining QA decisions and aligning on interpretation of policies and rubrics.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for assigned workflows, participating in trends & gaps, appeals, enablement and project meetings.

  • Provide structured feedback on rubric design, SOP clarity and QA processes, helping to improve how we test quality over time.

  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • Experience in QA, operations, investigations, compliance or risk within financial services, fintech, payments or e‑commerce.

  • Practical knowledge of KYC/KYB, AML/CFT, sanctions screening, and/or transaction monitoring workflows.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to apply policies and SOPs consistently when grading complex cases.

  • Comfortable working with case management and QA tooling (e.g. Zendesk, Maestro/Rippit, Looker or similar).

  • Solid analytical and written communication skills – you can turn case‑level findings into clear, succinct insights for busy stakeholders.

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trust with Operations, Compliance, our Regulated Entity and external partners.

  • A proactive, improvement‑oriented approach – you look for ways to strengthen processes, not only to identify errors.

  • You have a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-help attitude

  • A trust in and dedication to Etsy’s vision, mission and values

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with or supporting a regulated payments institution in the EEA or similar jurisdiction.

  • Familiarity with EU payments regulatory frameworks (e.g. AMLD, CBI expectations on CDD, TM and outsourcing).

  • Experience using QA rubrics/scorecards, sampling methodologies and calibrationΒ
