What will you be doing
Expert role. Acknowledged software quality assurance method, tool, and process subject matter expert (SME) and authority within the organisation and/or company. Provides strategic direction, guidance, and integrated solutions to enterprise-wide and/or segment-wide quality engineering initiatives. Works on projects and issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Coaches and mentors junior technical staff. Typically requires twelve or more years of IT and business experience with at least six years in quality assurance/test automation and three or more years of audit/assessment experience.
Collaborates with QA and Technology leaders to define and implement the quality maturity roadmap and plans for each IT mission team.
Provides hands-on expertise in software development and testing, with strong proficiency in automation techniques.
Utilizes REST API automation frameworks/tools, such as REST Assured, Karate DSL, and Postman.
Designs and develops automated test scenarios for web applications using tools like Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and Cucumber.
Applies BDD/TDD methodologies to enhance test coverage and code quality.
Implements CI/CD practices using tools such as GitLab and GitHub.
Works with test management tools like Zephyr Scale and Xray for planning, tracking, and reporting test activities.
Demonstrates accountability for production service quality, contributing to service design and delivery.
Designs, monitors, and evaluates QA performance metrics programsβsuch as defect density, test coverage, automation rate, and release qualityβto drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with organizational quality objectives.
Reviews progress on SQA plans with IT leadership, technical teams, and stakeholders, making adjustments as needed.
Oversees audit processes to ensure compliance with established standards and policies.
Coordinates and facilitates QA activities across projects in collaboration with project managers.
Establishes internal IT service quality standards, policies, and procedures.
Develops, publishes, and enforces software quality assurance (SQA) plans.
Partners with development, testing, and production teams to implement SQA strategies and best practices.
Provides guidance and subject matter expertise on QA methodologies, educating teams on roles and responsibilities for timely, high-quality deliverables.
Recommends and drives improvements in the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Documents and resolves non-compliance issues related to policies, processes, and standards.
What you bring:
We are seeking highly skilled Senior QA Engineers to join us on our quality journey. This role requires strong leadership by example across all team functions, including driving Agile process adoption and implementing industry best practices.
Reporting to the QA Manager/Lead, you will be an integral part of the Payrix QA Team, responsible for designing and maintaining BDD test scenarios and automation frameworks for various Payrix products, including the Payrix CORE API ,Payrix Web Portal or Payrix new Product line.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse business requirements and translate them into functional and automated test scenarios.
Develop functional test cases and convert them into automated scripts.
Build and maintain robust test automation frameworks for existing functionality, new features, and bug fixes.
Review and provide feedback on automation work delivered by other engineers.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and enhancements to testing practices.
What you bring:
Extensive hands-on experience in software development and testing with deep expertise in automation techniques.
Proficient in REST API automation using frameworks such as REST Assured, Karate DSL, and Postman.
Skilled in designing and developing automated test scenarios for web applications using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and Cucumber.
Strong knowledge and practical experience with BDD and TDD methodologies.
Solid understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts and tools like GitLab /GitHub.
Proven accountability for production service quality, with direct contributions to service build and delivery.
Experienced in using test management tools such as Zephyr Scale and Xray for planning, tracking, and reporting.
Excellent experience collaborating with Product Owners and Business Analysts in all Agile ceremonies to understand acceptance criteria and derive comprehensive positive, negative, and edge test cases for given requirements.
Experienced in working across different SDLC environments with the ability to perform relevant testing and automation tailored to each stage.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams through change and drive quality-focused initiatives.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Over 10 years of relevant experience in QA and test automation.
Bachelorβs degree preferred.
Prior experience working in a SaaS environment.
A Bachelorβs degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
