ASSYST is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer to support our client in Austin TX
Location: Austin, TX Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099) Position: Hybrid, No Remote Work Allowed.
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with a strong technical background to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in scripting, test automation using tools like UFT, and database validation. A clear understanding of CI/CD processes, Agile methodologies, and solid communication skills are critical for success in this role. Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute automated test suites using UFT or similar tools.
Create, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks and tools.
Write and maintain test scripts in JavaScript, Visual Basic Script, and Python.
Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams to integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
Develop and manage Requirements Traceability Matrices to ensure full test coverage.
Prepare and execute test plans and detailed User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Query and validate data using SQL and PL/SQL across different database platforms.
Document and communicate test results, defects, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Use JIRA to manage test activities, defects, and progress tracking.
Required Skills
8+ years of experience developing test suites using UFT or similar test automation tools.
Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL for database queries.
6+ years of experience creating Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
Proficient in developing and executing test scripts, and preparing test plans.
Skilled in coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Familiar with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
4+ years of experience using JIRA for:
Managing project and sprint tasks
Tracking individual work assignments
Supporting Agile SDLC environments
Experience contributing to projects using Agile project management methodologies.
