QA Automation Engineer

Our client is a software and payments company, founded in 2018. They operate across five divisions, offering 30+ essential software solutions for SMEs in the UK and Ireland.

We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer to join our client’s cross-functional development team and contribute to delivering high-quality, well-tested software products.

In this role, you will develop and maintain automated tests to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software releases. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll support test automation efforts, contribute to CI/CD integration, and help improve testing practices across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases for backend and API testing using C# and BDD frameworks.
• Contribute to the implementation of a robust test automation strategy aligned with the Test Pyramid (unit, integration, end-to-end).
• Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, and DevOps to ensure quality across the development cycle.
• Participate in refining and extending test frameworks (e.g., SpecFlow/Reqnroll).
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support early defect detection.
• Actively identify gaps in test coverage and propose improvements in testing practices.
• Analyze test results, document issues, and ensure timely resolution of defects.
• Advocate for high-quality standards and an automation-first testing culture within the team.

Requirements:

• 3 years of professional experience as a QA Automation Engineer in modern software development environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# .NET.
• Proficiency in testing REST APIs and implementing API test strategies.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with BDD (e.g., SpecFlow, Reqnroll).
• Good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into them.
• Clear understanding of the Test Pyramid and best practices for test design.
• Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and test verification.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
