QA Automation Engineer (Katalon)

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in Katalon Studio and a solid understanding of web accessibility compliance (ADA / WCAG). The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain automated frameworks while ensuring products meet high quality and accessibility standards. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Katalon Studio (Web and API).
• Perform API testing using tools like Katalon, Postman, and Seleniuim.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and manual QA engineers to define clear acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and provide detailed reports on defects and test coverage.
• Continuously enhance automation frameworks for scalability and maintainability.
• Contribute to test planning, estimation, and documentation of test strategies.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, retrospectives, daily standups.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices.
• Perform accessibility testing to ensure compliance with:
  • ADA Accessibility Guidelines
  • WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 Level A & AA
• Use automated accessibility tools including:
  • WAVE (Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool)
  • Axe DevTools
  • Siteimprove Accessibility Checker
• Conduct manual accessibility testing, including:
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Screen reader testing (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
  • Focus order and visible focus indicators
  • Color contrast / visual impairments
• Document accessibility defects clearly and work with developers on remediation.
• Validate that new features and UI changes meet accessibility guidelines before release.
• Advocate accessibility best practices across the engineering team.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in Software Testing, with 3+ years in test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience in Katalon Studio (Web UI, API).
• Proficiency in Groovy/Java scripting.
• Experience with version control (Git, Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of test management tools (Jira, Zephyr, TestRail).
• Accessibility testing experience (required):
  • Automated tools: WAVE, axe DevTools, Siteimprove
  • Manual testing: keyboard navigation, alternative text checks, focus management
  • Screen reader usage: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver
  • Understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2 A & AA standards
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
