Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong expertise in API testing and backend validation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in debugging, understanding system design, and validating complex backend workflows. This role requires a strong analytical mindset to test both positive and negative scenarios effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive API testing using tools like Rest assured/postman or similar platforms
Validate HTTP status codes and ensure accurate responses from backend services
Design and execute test cases, including negative and edge case scenarios
Debug issues by analyzing logs, API responses, and backend workflows
Collaborate with developers to understand how the backend systems work
Ensure proper validation of request/response structures and data integrity
Participate in discussions around system design and test strategy
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product delivery
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong hands-on experience in API testing
Good understanding of HTTP methods and status codes
Experience in debugging and root cause analysis
Ability to design negative test scenarios and edge cases
Understanding of backend architecture and workflows
Exposure to API-based projects (must-have)
Basic knowledge of system design concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good to Have:
Experience with automation tools for API testing
Knowledge of databases and ability to validate backend data
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
