Description

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to lead and oversee the quality assurance processes for our Telecom BSS/OSS (Business Support Systems / Operational Support Systems) projects, with a focus on Oracle BSS applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QA methodologies, particularly with Telecom BSS solutions, and possess fluency in both Japanese and English. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the Oracle-based BSS/OSS systems, applications, and services that we develop and maintain.

As a QA Lead, you will manage a team of QA professionals, create and enforce testing strategies, and ensure that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards. You will also collaborate closely with global teams, especially in Japan, to ensure that requirements are met and quality is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers to ensure successful execution of test plans and activities.
    • Delegate tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of QA milestones.
    • Advocate for quality practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Quality Assurance Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies for Oracle-based Telecom BSS/OSS applications.
    • Plan, design, and execute manual and automated tests across various environments (UAT, performance, functional, regression, etc.).
    • Ensure that the testing strategy addresses all aspects of Oracle BSS systems (e.g., Oracle BRM, Siebel CRM, Oracle OSM, Oracle OSM).
    • Oversee test planning, test case creation, defect tracking, and reporting activities, focusing on Oracle BSS solutions.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication:
    • Act as the primary point of contact between the QA team and other stakeholders (development teams, product managers, business analysts, etc.).
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that business requirements and product specifications are clearly understood and testable.
    • Provide regular updates to stakeholders in both Japanese and English, ensuring all parties are aligned on testing progress, blockers, and risks.
  • Test Automation:
    • Develop and implement automation strategies for Oracle BSS/OSS applications using industry-standard tools.
    • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of automated test scripts and frameworks, optimizing automation for repetitive and regression testing.
  • Process Improvement & Risk Management:
    • Identify and implement improvements in the QA process to increase efficiency and effectiveness, focusing on Oracle applications and integrations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and proactively address potential issues to minimize the impact on project timelines.
    • Ensure adherence to Oracle-specific testing practices and industry best practices for quality assurance in Telecom.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation related to test plans, test cases, defect reports, and test results for Oracle-based BSS/OSS systems.
    • Regularly report on product quality, issues, and risks to senior management, ensuring transparency across teams.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years in QA, including 3+ years in leadership roles on Telecom BSS/OSS projects.
  • Expertise in functional, regression, performance, and security testing for Oracle BSS/OSS solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Communications and BSS/OSS domains.
  • Experience with Oracle BRM, PDC, and ECE in billing systems.
  • Familiarity with OSS Fulfilment, Activation COTS applications, and their telecom use.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in both Japanese and English (written and spoken). Ability to write detailed test reports, communicate with stakeholders, and conduct meetings in both languages.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and best practices.
  • Experience with Telecom BSS and system integrations in telecom.
  • Skilled in test automation tools (Selenium, JUnit, QTP) and frameworks (TestNG).
  • Proficient in Oracle Database and SQL for validating functionality.
  • Hands-on with test management tools like JIRA and TestRail.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration testing.
  • Familiar with TMF/eTOM and SID data models.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Communications RODOD and RSDOD.
  • Experience in end-to-end telecom project implementations.
  • Worked extensively in Agile environments.
  • Strong customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to support team technically and triage issues.
  • Capable of executing test cases, logging, and retesting defects.
  • Perform system, integration, regression testing, and defect retesting.
  • Well-versed in software testing and defect lifecycle.
  • Experience in report design using data models, templates, and SQL/bursting queries.
  • Domain expertise in prepaid/postpaid billing for broadband/wireless services.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of deploying BRM on-premises or cloud.
  • Experienced in leading customer workshops with Oracle tools and methods.
  • Comfortable with both Waterfall and Agile/DevOps models.
  • Effective in stakeholder and customer communication.
  • Exposure to cloud tools and frameworks.
  • In-depth understanding of telecom BSS/OSS, especially billing.
