Bilnor Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Quality Assurance Manager for a structural steel and construction environment based in Pretoria.
The role focuses on managing all welding documentation, QA/QC processes, inspections, reporting, NCR investigations and data file control across in-house and site operations.Β

Key ResponsibilitiesΒ
Welding Documentation & Certification
- Certify and maintain all in-house and site welding documentation.
- Keep all records up to date and ensure correct filing for audits and project requirements.
Team Oversight
- Manage Floor QC Inspectors, Welding Inspectors, Coating Inspectors and Site QC Inspectors.
- Review inspector reports and photographs, complete the office-based sections, and prepare final versions for printing and scanning.
Tender & Project QA Requirements
- Manage QA requirements during tenders and project setup, including weld details, NDT requirements, inspection requests and corrosion protection requirements.
- Compare tender allowances with quotes from relevant vendors (e.g., Dram, IPS).
- Arrange Stevensons or Stoncor warranties and request updated vendor quotations when required.
QA Documentation & Data Control
- Compile complete QA/QC data files.
- Maintain record keeping for all QA/QC documentation, As-Built Drawings (with Dumisani), Material Certifications and Delivery Notes (with Sharron).
- Support all QA/QC activities across production and fabrication, both in-house and outsourced.Β
Non-Conformance & Investigations
- Issue NCRs and conduct investigations to determine causes and corrective actions.
Consumables & Equipment Quality Control
- Monitor and check quality of welding consumables, abrasive disks and similar items.
- Identify and report issues with production tools or power tools.
- Test and compare production-related products, including price comparisons when necessary.Β

Requirements
- Trade Certificate - Welding (Preferred)
- 5 years experience in a construction environment
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) (Preferred)
- Experience in structural steel fabrication, welding documentation, and QA/QC processes.
- Strong understanding of inspection workflows and quality reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple QA/QC teams and coordinate documentation across departments.
- Solid organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to interact with vendors, interpret tender requirements and manage warranty documentation
