Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Responsibilities<\/b>
<\/h4>
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and test suites for web, API, and mobile applications.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Collaborate closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is built into every phase of the SDLC.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Derive and manage detailed test plans, including scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Define and implement QA processes, standards, and best practices aligned with Agile/DevOps methodologies.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing using both manual and automated techniques.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Own the test strategy and ensure test coverage aligns with project requirements and business priorities.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Create and manage reusable test data and maintain automation scripts in version control systems (e.g., Git).
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Proactively identify, log, and track defects; perform root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Work closely with developers to debug issues and verify fixes, ensuring timely closure of defects.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Stand -ups, and Retrospectives.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Generate structured test execution reports and quality metrics for leadership and project stakeholders.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Continuously evaluate emerging tools, technologies, and frameworks to improve test efficiency and reliability.
    <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    Requirements<\/b>
    <\/h4>
    • Minimum 6–8 years of experience<\/b> in software testing, with at least 4 years in test automation or SDET roles<\/b>.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology<\/b>, or a related field (BE/BTech); a post -graduate or management degree is a plus.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Strong experience in test automation frameworks<\/b> (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, or Pytest).
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language: Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#<\/b>.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Experience in API testing and automation<\/b> using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Karate<\/b>.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Exposure to CI/CD tools<\/b> (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and version control (Git).
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies<\/b>.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Hands -on experience with test management tools<\/b> such as Jira, Zephyr, or TestRail.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Knowledge of performance testing tools<\/b> (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) and/or security testing basics<\/b> is a plus.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem -solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with cross -functional teams.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Preferred certifications: ISTQB, CSTE, or Selenium WebDriver Certification<\/b>.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • (Preferred) Experience in the Airline or Travel industry<\/b> and familiarity with domain -specific testing scenarios.
