We are looking for an experiencedย Lead Software Engineer โ€“ SDETย to drive quality engineering, test automation, and software development initiatives across front-end and back-end applications. This role is ideal for a strong software engineer who combines hands-on programming expertise with a deep understanding of automation, quality engineering, cloud platforms, and modern software development practices.

You will play a key role in building scalable automation frameworks, developing automated and unit tests, validating production applications, and embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalableย automated test frameworks and test suitesย for front-end and back-end applications.
  • Develop automated and unit tests usingย Python, Java, or Node.js/JavaScript.
  • Apply strongย Object-Oriented Programming, software design, and engineering principlesย to test automation.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and engineering stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
  • Develop and execute test scenarios usingย Gherkin and BDD methodologies.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve quality issues across applications, APIs, and distributed services.
  • Integrate automated testing and quality gates intoย CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support testing and deployment of cloud-based applications, particularly withinย AWS environments.
  • Validate distributed systems and messaging platforms such asย Kafka, Amazon SQS, and Kinesis.
  • Participate actively in Agile/Lean practices, including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and technical discussions.
  • Manage test cases, defects, and project documentation usingย Jira, Xray, and Confluence.
  • Monitor application quality and performance using tools such asย SonarQube, Grafana, and Datadog.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of automation frameworks, testing strategies, engineering standards, and quality processes.
  • Mentor team members and promote strong engineering and quality practices across development teams.

What's Makes You a Great Fit

  • 7+ years of experienceย in SDET, Software Engineering, SRE, Quality Engineering, or related roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience inย automated and unit testingย of front-end and back-end applications and services.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language:ย Python, Java, or Node.js/JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding ofย OOP, software design principles, and scalable automation architecture.
  • Experience working inย Agile or Lean software development environments.
  • Hands-on experience withย Git, Jira, Confluence, and standard SDLC practices.
  • Strong coding and debugging skills with an ability to build maintainable automation solutions.
  • Experience with production development usingย Python, Flask, Django, React, or Node.jsย is an advantage.
  • Strong backend development experience usingย Python or Java.
  • Experience building and deploying applications onย AWS, including awareness of cost and performance optimization.
  • Exposure toย Kafka, Amazon SQS, or Kinesisย and distributed system testing.
  • Proficiency inย Gherkin and BDD-based automation.
  • Experience withย Docker, Kubernetes, and Spinnakerย is preferred.
  • Familiarity withย SonarQube, Grafana, and Datadogย for code quality, monitoring, and observability.
  • Strong understanding ofย CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containers, and distributed systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A strong sense of ownership with the ability toย drive quality across the entire software development lifecycle.
