Senior QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)

PURPOSE:

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer with over 5 years of professional experience in functional, integration, regression, and performance testing. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in testing RESTful APIs, knowledge of QA methodologies and processes, and the ability to work in a Scaled Agile environment. This role requires excellent communication skills for effective client interaction, as well as the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.

• Test RESTful APIs using Postman or automated API test suites.

• Participate in QA strategy development, test planning, and estimation activities.

• Apply strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.

• Follow Scaled Agile processes to ensure quality delivery in iterative development cycles.

• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution using bug tracking systems such as Azure DevOps or JIRA.

• Develop and maintain automated tests using tools such as MS Test.

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, TFS).

• Recommend improvements in QA processes, tools, and best practices to enhance product quality.

• Write and execute SQL queries to validate backend data in RDBMS.

• Leverage knowledge of virtualization and networking concepts for test environments.

• Apply programming skills (e.g., C#, Java) in developing automated test scripts.

• Work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to align on requirements and deliverables.

• Provide clear and detailed defect reports, test metrics, and QA status updates.

• Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring transparency and clarity in QA activities.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (BS CS).

• 5+ years of hands-on QA experience across manual and automation testing.

• Strong expertise in Functional, Integration, Regression, and Performance testing.

• Proficiency in REST API testing with Postman or similar tools.

• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum/SAFe practices.

• Experience with Azure DevOps/TFS, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Good knowledge of MS Test, SQL, and RDBMS.

• Knowledge of programming languages (C#, Java) for automation.

• Familiarity with virtualization and networking concepts.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Fluent in verbal and written English.
