Role Profile
- The Senior QA Engineer is a member of the Product Engineering Team responsible for testing software developed for D &A Products; they apply business requirements and knowledge of software testing lifecycles to guide the testing of complex software products or customer solutions. The Senior QA Engineer contributes through their technical expertise and talent development. They work as a part of a Scrum team utilizing Continuous Integration and Behavior Driven Development and adopting DevOps practices while following a central QA test strategy and testing standards laid out for the division.
Tech Profile/Essential Skills
- 10 or more years’ experience in Software Testing with a minimum of 5 years API Testing experience
- Experience working with API automation testing tools (Python / Pytest, Postman and Postman Test scripts, JMeter).
- Experience working with Jenkins or Test Rail or Gitlab or similar tools.
- Knowledge of HTTP, Web API, REST, JSON, XML, XSLT, HTML, XPath, CSS.
- High fluency in English with strong communication skills in verbal and written English.
- Understanding of financial markets domain
- Experience of managing and owning complex issues to resolution through working collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Experience of maintaining effective communications with Technical and Business stakeholders within a challenging and fast moving landscape.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Cloud Testing experiences (Azure, AWS).
- Experience of Integration testing across full lifecycle
- Experience of working in software delivery methodologies such as Agile/Scrum
- High fluency in English with strong communication skills in verbal and written English
Detailed Responsibilities
- Design and implement test plans for API/Web application based on business requirements and business use cases.
- Build, maintain and update test scenarios and test cases based on the requirement specifications.
- Document test cases using testing tools.
- Perform and document risk analysis.
- Perform manual and automated testing.
- Record test progress and results. Report results of automated and manual tests.
- Maintain automated tests and troubleshoot issues in automated test scripts.
- Discover bugs within software through functional and automated regression testing.
- Identify, isolate, and record bugs throughout testing.
- Identify any potential problems that users might encounter.
- Track bugs through JIRA or other tools.
- Provide daily, weekly status updates to leads and managers.
- Create and build test plans, estimates and improvements to test process.
- Review QA project artefacts including Test scenarios, Test Scripts, Defect reports and Status reports.
- Familiar with Agile methodology.
- Working alongside Product QA teams, Product Owners and Technical Product Managers to ensure clarity of requirements and appropriate levels of testing at each Integration test phase.
- Working in partnership with Automation lead to ensure an appropriate suite of Automated Regression tests are established supporting an Automation first principle for Integration testing.
- Being able to quickly understand technical challenges and represent QE in front of Key stakeholders.
- Able to document processes and share knowledge
