About the Role: Ensuring Excellence

We’re seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join RUSH. Your mission is to ensure quality, reliability, and delight in every digital experience we build, maintaining our reputation for technical excellence. This senior role requires a blend of technical mastery, strategic thinking, and empathetic leadership to help us better serve humankind.

We need a self-driven expert with automation experience in Playwright and TypeScript, plus a solid understanding of API testing to uncover bugs beyond the UI. You’ll thrive alongside Frontend and Backend peers, navigating evolving requirements with minimal documentation and valuing lean QA practices. Whether joining as a permanent staff member or a specialised contractor, you’ll manage your own priorities and fully integrate into our workflows, contributing to some of the most innovative projects in the industry.

What You'll Do

Champion Quality Across Projects

You will be the primary advocate for quality at every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• End-to-End Leadership: Lead testing activities across web, mobile, and interactive software projects—from early development and discovery through release and beyond.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and sophisticated scripts that ensure every product meets the highest quality standards before it reaches a user's hands.
• Cross-Platform Mastery: Perform system, regression, and exploratory testing across multiple platforms, ensuring a seamless experience on iOS, Android, Web, and Windows.
• Collaborative Integration: Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to identify and resolve issues early in the design and development phases.
• Automation Engineering: Maintain and improve automated testing frameworks (utilizing tools such as Appium, JUnit, and Cypress) to drive efficiency, consistency, and rapid feedback loops.

Support Live Products and Continuous Improvement

At RUSH, our responsibility to the user doesn't end at the "launch" button.

• Production Health: Monitor and test live systems, diagnose production issues with precision, and help deliver timely fixes to minimize user disruption.
• Defect Management: Log and analyze defects in Jira and TestRail, identifying patterns, root causes, and areas where our internal processes can be improved.
• Knowledge Excellence: Create and maintain detailed support and self-help documentation for both internal teams and our customers.
• QA Evolution: Actively contribute to improving QA practices, tools, and the overall quality culture across the entire engineering chapter.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience and Technical Proficiency

We need a seasoned professional who can hit the ground running. We are open to candidates seeking Permanent roles or Contract engagements, provided they meet the following criteria:

• Industry Tenure: 6+ years of hands-on software testing experience across mobile and web platforms. You should have a proven track record of delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.
• Agile Fluency: A solid, practical understanding of Agile and Scrum delivery environments. You know how to pivot when requirements change and how to keep the "definition of done" sacred.
• Independence: Proven ability to plan, document, and execute tests independently with minimal supervision.
• Tooling Expertise: Proficiency with industry-standard test management and defect tracking tools (specifically TestRail and Jira).
• Automation Prowess: Significant experience with automation tools such as Appium, JUnit, Maven, RestSharp, or Cypress. You should be comfortable writing and maintaining automated scripts.
• Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills. You must be able to explain technical bugs to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
