Senior Test Engineer (Online shopping platform)

CUSTOMER

Our Customer is based in the UK. The company operates a global marketplace for the fashion industry that allows users to sell customized or rare clothing and accessories. It provides a way to turn unwanted items into money.

PROJECT

The project is a social shopping platform – a mix of retail and social networking. Users have profile pages where they can post pictures and descriptions of items for sale, along with the price. Generally, the platform specializes in clothing retail. Posts can contain hashtags and additional information to make searching for items more comfortable. The main task is to provide users with the most evocative buying and selling experience. You will be responsible for integrating the payment system and working with accessibility features.  

Job Description

• Work as a part of product development team
• Closely collaborate with development team on the customer side
• Clearly and constructively communicate risks and issues 
• Follow and support quality assistance process
• Plan and estimate testing activities 
• Create test documentation
• Come up with necessary tests for the feature: manual, snapshot, and UI tests
• Perform manual functional, regression, and compatibility testing (web and mobile)
• Provide regular and clear status and progress reports

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance, including end-to-end ownership of the testing process
• At least 3 years of experience in testing iOS applications 
• Experience and deep awareness in functional testing (test design techniques, change impact analysis, etc.)
• Strong in requirements analysis, and able to clarify edge/corner scenarios
• Experience of participating in production delivery, including release validation, smoke testing, and post-deploy quality checks 
• Able to independently organize the QA process, including planning, documentation, and task tracking
• Strong knowledge of Scrum and Kanban processes 
• Upper-Intermediate level of spoken and written English

Technical requirements: 

• Experience of working with 3rd-party service integrations (external APIs) 
• SQL: Ability to write moderately complex queries, and good understanding of data structures 
• API testing: Hands-on experience of testing REST APIs using tools like Postman 
• Web: Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, cookies, caching, and browser behavior 
• Mobile testing (iOS/Android): - Testing on emulators and physical devices; - Deploying builds using Android Studio, Xcode, or similar tools 
• Git: Practical experience with branches, commits, code reviews, pull/merge requests
