We are hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test
Hybrid working model — Belgrade or Novi Sad office
Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test to join Synechron Serbia, focusing on revising, designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for complex applications. The role involves ensuring software quality and reliability through advanced test automation, continuous integration, and performance testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Automate test cases for C#/.NET and C++ applications on Windows environments
Develop and maintain scripting for test automation using PowerShell, Python, and SQL against SQL Server
Work with Windows services, IIS-hosted web applications, and have familiarity with Linux services
Use front-end/UI automation tools like TestComplete, Ranorex, UFT, Selenium, or equivalents
Implement tests using .NET frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, MSTest
Integrate AI-assisted test generation tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot) into CI workflows
Usage of AI assistance in everyday work for repetitive tasks
Perform performance and capacity testing with tools such as JMeter or k6 for throughput and latency profiling
Utilize Splunk for log ingestion and audit logging analysis
Test WCF services, contracts with Pact, and APIs using frameworks like RestSharp or Postman/Newman
Manage CI/CD pipelines in Bamboo or Jenkins, employing pipeline-as-code practices
Follow best practices in source control with BitBucket or Git, managing branching, pull requests, and hooks
Create deployment scripts with PowerShell DSC, Octopus Deploy, or custom tools
Your Profile:
5+ years of experience automating test cases for C#/.NET and/or C++ applications on Windows
Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, and SQL for MS SQL Server
Ability to read and understand C# and C++ codebases to design automation strategies
Solid knowledge of Windows services, IIS, and familiarity with Linux services
Experience with at least one UI automation tool among TestComplete, Ranorex, UFT, Selenium
Proficient with .NET testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, MSTest
Familiarity with CI/CD tools Bamboo/Jenkins and source control workflows
Experience with performance testing and log monitoring tools
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have:
Experience with AI-assisted testing tools (Claude Code, Copilot)
Familiarity with BDD frameworks like SpecFlow or Cucumber
Knowledge of SonarQube or other static code analysis tools
Background in financial services or trading platforms
Experience with containerization (Docker)
Exposure to Linux services
