As a Software QA Engineer, you will be: 

• Accountable for deliverables and effectiveness of processes in quality assurance in your scrum team – functional and non-functional testing, as well as in the QA team.

• Responsible for root cause analysis of problems identified by end users and internal teams.

• Adept at API testing using tool of choice. We are an API-first testing team and use Postman.

• Liaising with the application support team to provide support to end-users to resolve production issues.

• A champion for ensuring high-quality software products by influencing processes and practices throughout the development lifecycle.

This is the right role if you: 

• Have a university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

• Have 6+ years of full-time industry experience in Software Quality Assurance.

• Are an ardent GitHub user: Please include your GitHub link in the resume! 

• Know the ins and outs of APIs and possess deep experience in API testing.

• Proven experience in building test automation frameworks.

• Experience in troubleshooting user-reported issues:

  • using browser dev tools,

  • using database queries (we have both SQL and NoSQL databases).

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and can provide:
  • Technical leadership and mentorship to QA team members.
  • Clear issue resolution support to customers.

• Nice-to-haves:

  • Have working knowledge in:

    • Application monitoring (we use Datadog).

    • Performance testing (we use K6).

    • Security testing (we use Burp Suite).

    • Have exposure to cloud technologies and can comprehend basic cloud-related conversations.

NOTE: this is a hybrid role, for our Mississauga, Ontario EllisDon office.
