About the RoleΒ 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer Level 4 with deep expertise in test automation using Playwright, as well as strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScriptTypeScript. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality and reliability of the Firefly Web Client designing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating cross-functionally with product, development, and DevOps teams.Β 

Key ResponsibilitiesΒ 

  • Develop, maintain, and scale automated test suites using Playwright.Β 

  • Build and extend testing infrastructure and utilities in JavaScriptTypeScript.Β 

  • Drive best practices in test automation, test coverage, and CI/CD integration.Β 

  • Investigate test failures, report defects and application bugs, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.Β 

  • Lead by example in code quality, test reliability, and operational excellence.Β 

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on automation strategy, tooling, and test design.Β 

  • Build and enhance internal developer tools (Dev Tools) to support testing and debugging workflows.Β 

  • Add and maintain logging, monitoring hooks, and custom test instrumentation as needed.Β 

  • Write performance tests to ensure optimal speed, responsiveness, and scalability, includes simulating user load, measuring page load times,Β monitoring CPU/GPU usage.Β Β 

RequirementsΒ 

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or test automation.Β 

  • Skilled in at least one mainstream frontend framework, such as React, Vue, or AngularLit.Β 

  • Proven expertise with Playwright for end-to-end testing of modern web applications.Β 

  • Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript.Β 

  • Experience working in agile development environments and familiarity with CI/CD tools.Β 

  • Solid understanding of web technologies, browser behavior, and DOM manipulation.Β 

  • Ability to debug and analyze failures in test and production environments.Β 

  • Experience with performance testing tools, such as Lighthouse, Playwright Tracing and Metrics, Google Chrome DevTools.Β 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Β 

Preferred QualificationsΒ 

  • Experience with argo, JenkinsΒ Β 

  • Familiarity with test reporting and analytics tools.Β 

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Β 

  • Previous experience working on enterprise-level applications. Β 

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalβ€― U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionβ€―is $133,900 -- $242,000 annually. Payβ€―within this range varies by work locationβ€―and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,β€―and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.Β  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
