Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and owning automated tests for validating battery life as well as post-processing and reporting of test results. You will be responsible for running tests, analyzing test results against expectations, and collaborating with engineering teams to debug observed battery life issues in order to ensure products and software releases are of the highest quality . You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, as well as proactively identifying automated solutions to streamline our workflows.


  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience developing automated test frameworks and proficiency in a scripting language (eg, Python)
  • Strong QA experience in test planning/strategy/methodologies and self-sufficient in debugging, troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)


  • System level knowledge of hardware and software
  • Experience in functional, performance or battery life testing of mobile devices


At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
