Job description

Β

Let’s get started! What you’ll do:

We’re building a new team focused on delivering campaign results quickly and accurately for our advertisers, a key step toward achieving our Retail Media goals. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you’ll work on a web interface that allows advertisers to easily access their campaign performance. Within the team, you’ll be the go-to person for all quality-related matters and actively help shape a shared quality mindset.

Developers contribute to testability and quality, while you, as an SDET, are also involved in developing both frontend and backend features. In this way, quality assurance becomes a shared responsibility, and together we build robust, scalable software with quality at its core.

Your expertise enables us to deliver reliable, data-driven Retail Media solutions for Jumbo. You’ll collaborate closely with other teams, business stakeholders, and relevant chapters β€” and you’ll inspire your colleagues to think outside the box. This greenfield project kicks off this year, with a go-live planned for summer 2026. After that, we’ll continue building on our ambitions together.

Together we are Jumbo: this is where you'll work

A lot happens at Jumbo: no day is the same, we move fast and are always looking at how we can improve, for our customers and each other. You’re encouraged to spot opportunities and take initiative on anything that helps us reach our goals. With an informal working atmosphere, room for ownership, humor, and fun, you’ll work at Jumbo with a smile every day. The Agile team will consist of at least a Product Owner, two Data Engineers, a Backend Developer, a Frontend Developer, and a Software Development Engineer in Test. As an engineer, you’ll be part of the broader Customer & Assortment department.

Profile

Β

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with quality-driven software development
  • Experience with technologies such as Java 21, Spring Framework, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Vue/Nuxt
  • Strong knowledge of test automation and performance testing
  • Skilled in designing and implementing test strategies within Agile teams
  • Ability to foster and sustain a strong quality culture within the team
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and/or Azure
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools such as GitHub

Β

And finally...

You have a strong Quality Mindset and live it from design through to production. You help create awareness and foster a team culture focused on quality β€” reliable, testable, and sustainable. With your solid engineering skills, you easily switch between testing and development, always keeping the bigger picture in mind.

We offer

  • A gross salary between €5.100 - €6.500 per month (based on 40 hours).
  • An annual bonus of max 5% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
  • 30 days of paid holiday (with the opportunity to buy or sell days of paid holiday) and 8% holiday allowance.
  • You build up a pension through participation in the Pension Fund for the Food Industry.
  • An allowance for your travel expenses (€ 0.21 cents per kilometer with a maximum of 35 kilometers one way). We like to work together in the office, but you can also work partly from home.
  • Room for entrepreneurship, growth and development. Not only in your job but also through our Jumbo Academy, online training through GoodHabitz and with a training budget.
  • Daily fresh lunch in our FoodcafΓ©, good coffee and fresh fruit. You can sport daily at our own Jumbo Gym for a small fee.
  • Colleague discounts such as 10% off your groceries (up to €325 per year), participation in our collective health insurance or discounts through Benefits at Work.
