As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Clario, you will define and lead the end-to-end automated testing strategy across complex, regulated systems. You will partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle, leveraging modern automation practices and AI-assisted testing to improve reliability, speed, and defect detection.

Architect, own, and evolve the end-to-end automated testing strategy across UI, API, integration, performance, and security testing.
Design and implement AI-assisted test creation, optimization, and maintenance using large language models (LLMs) and AI-enabled testing platforms.
Establish, promote, and support Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices across engineering teams.
Build and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Define quality metrics, test coverage standards, and reporting dashboards to provide clear visibility into quality outcomes.
Ensure automated testing approaches comply with applicable clinical trial and regulatory requirements, including GxP, FDA guidance, and 21 CFR Part 11.
Partner with Product and Engineering to design highly testable, maintainable systems.
Mentor engineers and Software Engineers in Test (SETs) on automation architecture, AI-assisted testing, and quality engineering best practices.
Continuously improve test reliability, execution speed, and defect detection effectiveness.
Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
7+ years of experience in software test automation or quality engineering, including ownership of test architecture.
Proven experience designing modern automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend systems.
Hands-on experience applying AI techniques to expand automated test coverage, reduce test maintenance, identify flaky or redundant tests, and improve defect detection.
Strong experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Gherkin.
Demonstrated experience practicing and promoting TDD in close collaboration with software developers.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of test data management and test environment orchestration.
Experience working with medical imaging or complex visualization systems, including DICOM, PACS, image rendering, annotation, or performance-sensitive UI components.
Experience working in regulated environments such as Clinical Trials, Healthcare, or Life Sciences, including familiarity with validation documentation and audit readiness (IQ/OQ/PQ).
Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and influence technical teams.
