Description

As Software QA Manager, you will lead and grow a diverse QA organization that spans functional testing and automated validation. You will partner with US-based QA and Dev teams to embed quality early in the SDLC, establish best-in-class processes, and drive continuous improvement. You will own QA planning, execution, and reporting for your team in Indiaβ€”coaching them to deliver robust test coverage, maintain automation frameworks, and rapidly identify and resolve defects. You’ll also foster a collaborative, motivating environment that keeps team morale high, encourages continuous learning, and celebrates both individual and team achievements

Responsibilities:

  • Help define and implement a unified QA strategy that aligns with global priorities and local needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA Analysts and QA Automation Engineers.
  • Oversee the design, review, and maintenance of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
  • Collaborate with US QA and Development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, TravisCI) and monitor their health.
  • Track and report key QA metrics (defect density, test coverage, automation ROI) to both local and US stakeholders.
  • Embed testing earlier in the development cycle by working closely with product, development, and DevOps counterparts.
  • Manage resource planning, hiring, and training to scale the QA function in India.
  • Drive process improvements, tooling upgrades, and adoption of QA best practices across the organization.
  • Ensure timely delivery of Indian QA team’s commitmentsβ€”coordinating release windows to suit both India and US time zones.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of software QA experience, with at least 5 years in a people-management role.
  • Proven track record leading mixed teams of manual QA and QA automation engineers.
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, Agile/Scrum practices, and shift-left testing.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Robot Framework, POM, TestNG).
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, TravisCI).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; adept at collaborating across time zones.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Kochi, India, with flexible hours for overlap with US teams and occasional travel as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
