Description -

As our Software Test Engineer for HyperX gaming peripherals in Hsinchu, you aren’t just a "bug hunter"β€”you are the ultimate gatekeeper of the user experience. With our product roadmap expanding into high-complexity customization and next-gen gaming features, we need a seasoned pro to take full ownership of the testing lifecycle.

You will bridge the gap between hardware, firmware, and software, ensuring that our complex ecosystems (RGB sync, macros, DPI profiles) work flawlessly. This is a high-impact role where you will manage lean resources, oversee outsourcing labs, and drive quality in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Operate within a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment, adapting test plans to frequent software iterations and participating in sprint ceremonies to ensure quality at every stage.

  • Engage in regular discussions with Software PM and relevant engineering teamsΒ to negotiate and converge on issue priority, release schedule and fix timelines.

  • Work closely with relevant engineering teamsΒ to discuss software/firmware behavior, technical specifications, and implementation details.

  • Analyze product specs for customizable gaming features (e.g., RGB synchronization, macro recording, DPI profiles), develop test methods and generate detailed Test Plans.

  • Perform Manual Functional TestingΒ to ensure software controls hardware accurately.

  • Manage Outsourcing service and engineering lab resource by defining test scopes, test schedule and verifying their deliverables.

  • Submit high-quality bug reports and drive the convergence of issuesΒ through to resolution.

  • Utilize debug capabilitiesΒ to investigate root causes, capture logs, and provide relevant engineering teams with precise replication steps.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience in Firmware and Software testing.

  • Sufficient verbal and written skills to discuss issue severity and test scope/coverage/schedule.

  • Proven ability to work in an Agile development environment and manage shifting priorities.

  • Experience with peripheral software, drivers, and software applications for device configurations.

  • Competency in managing external testing vendors and internal deadlines.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for debugging complex hardware-firmware-software integration issues.

  • Python, Java, or relevant programming skill is highly preferred.
