Β Role Summary:Β
The Test Manager is responsible for overseeing the testing process during software development, ensuring quality and accuracy before the final product is released. This position involves managing a team of testers and coordinating with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders.Β
They achieve this by developing and implementing quality control systems, inspecting and testing materials, goods, and products, and identifying and resolving production and manufacturing problems.Β
They will work to ensure that software products meet established quality standards and compliance requirements, such as ISO, CMMI, or FDA guidelines. In addition to testing, QC Managers may also be involved in code reviews, performance testing, and documentation review to ensure that software products meet quality and usability standards.Β
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: The Test Manager is responsible for creating test plans, defining testing strategies, setting up test environments, and overseeing the execution of test cases to ensure product quality.Β
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Test Managers analyze complex issues, identify root causes of defects, and make critical decisions on prioritizing testing activities to meet project deadlines.Β
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: This role involves working closely with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to align testing efforts with project requirements and timelines.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Test Managers provide leadership to the testing team, mentor junior testers, and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the testing department.
- Process Improvement and Innovation: Continuous evaluation of testing processes, implementation of best practices, and driving innovation in test automation and tools to enhance testing efficiency.Β
- Technical or Customer-Facing Responsibilities: Test Managers may engage in technical discussions with development teams, participate in client meetings to discuss testing strategies, and address customer feedback related to product quality.Β
Requirements - Technical Skills: Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., Jira, HP ALM), test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium), scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java), and knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).Β
- Educational Requirements: Bachelorβs degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.Β
- Experience Level: Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. Experience in the IT Industries sector is preferred.Β
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, adaptability to changing project requirements, leadership qualities, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Β
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory compliance standards, software quality assurance processes, and familiarity with industry-specific testing challenges.Β
- Technical Knowledge & Experience:Β
- Prior experience in the healthcare sector will be an added advantage.Β
- Possess advanced task and resource management skills.Β
- Master of program/project management methodology, tools, and templates (includes program/project planning, schedule development, scope management and cost management).Β
- Leader in the use of IT methodologies, processes, and standards for program/project management.Β
- IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in all program/project phases β plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement.Β
