Software Tester

Akselos is a fast-growing digital technology company delivering Structural Performance Management (SPM) to the world’s most critical energy and industrial assets. Headquartered in Europe with operations in South East Asia and the USA, we combine high-fidelity structural twins, and real-time operational data to help operators run safer, more reliable, and more efficient facilities. Our technology allows customers to understand true structural behavior, prevent failures, extend asset life, and unlock higher throughput across Refining, Petrochemicals and offshore oil & Gas.

Position Summary:Β

Akselos delivers Structural Performance Management (SPM) software that enables industrial operators to make safety-critical, high-value decisions about the integrity and lifetime of their assets. As Akselos scales its platform across increasingly complex assets and customer environments, software quality is non-negotiable.

As a Software Tester, you are responsible for safeguarding the reliability and usability of the Akselos SPM platform by validating end-to-end user workflows across desktop and web applications and the structural simulation solver. Through rigorous testing, structured defect reporting, and close collaboration with engineering teams, you ensure that every release meets the quality bar required for safety-critical decision-making. Over time, the role may adapt to meet changing business needs.

Responsibilities:

    • Validate end-to-end SPM workflows
      • Test end-to-end user workflows across Akselos’ desktop and web applications and the structural simulation solver, from model setup through execution and results review.
      • Perform functional and exploratory testing to identify defects, edge cases, and usability issues in complex engineering workflows.
    • Design and maintain test coverage
      • Create, review, and maintain clear and effective test cases aligned with product requirements and expected user behavior.
      • Ensure test coverage evolves with new features, bug fixes, and changes to existing workflows.
    • Identify, document, and track defects
      • Log high-quality defect reports in Jira, including clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, severity assessment, and supporting evidence (e.g. logs, screenshots, minimal test cases).
      • Collaborate with developers to clarify issues, support root-cause analysis, and verify fixes.
    • Support release and regression testing
      • Execute regression testing to protect critical workflows and prevent reintroduction of defects
      • Validate release readiness by confirming that resolved issues meet acceptance criteria and quality standards before shipment.
    • Collaborate across teams
      • Work closely with developers, other testers, and product stakeholders across regions to align on requirements, risks, and quality expectations.
      • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices as the platform and organization scale.

      • Experience or strong interest in testing both Desktop (Windows) and Web-based applications.
      • Experience with Agile development practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
      • Familiarity with the Finite Element (FE) Method and Industrial finite element softwares. Ability to debug end-to-end simulation workflows (UI β†’ solver β†’ results), identify likely causes, and create small reproducible models/test cases for bug fixes and regression coverage.
      • Strong ability to write clear, high-quality bug reports (steps, expected vs actual results, supporting evidence).
      • Effective communication using English.
      • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially when working with complex technical workflows.
      • High aptitude for learning new technologies, tools, and engineering concepts quickly.
