THE POSITION:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Leader to oversee and evolve our software QA function. In this role, you will lead QA professionals, establish consistent quality standards, and partner closely with Development and Product teams to ensure reliable, high-quality releases. Also, this role places a strong emphasis on driving efficiency through automation, modern QA tooling, and scalable quality engineering practices, reducing manual effort while increasing coverage, speed, and reliability.
Depending on experience and scope, this role may be positioned at the Supervisor or Manager level, with responsibility ranging from direct team leadership to multiteam planning, hiring, and longterm QA strategy.
The selected individual will work in the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the onshore R&D team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build a high‑performing QA team by coaching, mentoring, fostering ownership and providing actionable feedback that improves individual growth, engagement, and delivery outcomes.
Own quality outcomes across multiple concurrent projects by driving a “bug‑free” quality vision—establishing and enforcing the testing practices, processes, standards, and accountability to minimize defects and deliver reliable, predictable, high‑confidence releases.
Drive effective QA planning and execution by forecasting effort, prioritizing work, and proactively managing risks to meet delivery timelines without compromising quality.
Provide transparent reporting on quality metrics, testing progress, and risk assessments to all stakeholders.
Ensure test assets and defect reporting provide meaningful coverage, traceability, and insight, enabling teams to make informed release and quality decisions.
Drive an automation-first QA strategy, increasing coverage while reducing manual testing effort
Continuously evolve QA processes, tools, and methodologies—manual and automated—to improve efficiency, coverage, and long‑term scalability of the QA function.
Partner closely with Development, Product, and other stakeholders to surface quality risks early, align on quality expectations, and prevent defects from reaching production.
Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and resource planning decisions to ensure the QA organization has the skills and capacity to support current and future delivery needs.
Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in software testing and QA management.
Oversee daily workflows, assign testing responsibilities, set goals, and conduct timely, constructive performance evaluations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with recent 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, defect management, and test design
Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and deliver results across multiple initiatives
Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
GOOD TO HAVE:
Experience leading QA teams across both manual and automated testing.
Familiarity with Agile / iterative development environments
Experience defining or improving QA processes at a team or departmental level
Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools or test optimization approaches
Certifications in QA or testing methodologies (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA) are highly desirable.
