QA Analyst
Description

We’re looking for a Senior Systems Tech Analyst to support a core P&C Insurance enterprise application focused on Medical Bill processing. This is a hands-on technical role, not a traditional BA/QA position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, .NET system analysis, API testing, and log/debug analysis, with the ability to interpret technical designs and contribute to architecture discussions in addition to functional design. You’ll partner closely with developers, architects, and business users, and play a critical role in both day-to-day support and the upcoming full system rewrite.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Collaborate with development teams to map system dependencies, data flow, and component-level interactions.
β€’ Create and maintain technical documentation (e.g., data mappings, service contracts, sequence diagrams) using available tools.
β€’ Write and debug T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data validation and troubleshooting.
β€’ Translate business requirements into user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria and technical annotations in Jira.
β€’ Analyze system behavior using application logs, error traces, and SQL Server Profiler.
β€’ Act as a point of contact for production support escalations, working across infrastructure, development, and database teams.
β€’ Drive impact analysis for change requests and assess downstream effects across systems.
β€’ Read and interpret .NET application code (C#) to understand business rules and identify root causes of issues.
β€’ Use Postman and Swagger UI to test and validate RESTful APIs and investigate integration points.
β€’ Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
β€’ Coordinate with QA to define test scenarios and perform functional validations using technical datasets and mock API calls.

Qualifications

β€’ ~10 years of experience, including at least 3–5 in technical BA or hybrid BA/developer roles.
β€’ Proficient in SQL Server – complex joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimization basics.
β€’ Familiarity with .NET applications – can read and follow business logic in C# and understand architectural structure.
β€’ Experience working with API testing tools like Postman and documentation tools like Swagger.
β€’ Understanding of log analysis, error handling, and triage processes across distributed applications.
β€’ Experience with Jira and Agile methodologies in a cross-functional delivery environment.
β€’ Strong communication and coordination skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
β€’ Experience in claims processing and medical billing systems.
β€’ Familiarity with DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, or Git-based source control systems.
