Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop App QA Lead to drive the quality assurance strategy, planning, and execution for multiple desktop-based product lines. This role requires a strong technical background in manual and automation testing, hands-on experience with Java, Appium, and Sikuli, and the ability to lead cross-functional testing efforts across mobile and desktop platforms.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of end‑to‑end QA processes, ensure high‑quality product releases, collaborate with engineering and product teams, and proactively prevent defect leaks to production.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead QA planning, execution, and reporting for desktop applications across multiple product lines.
  • Define and implement quality strategies, test plans, and regression cycles.
  • Review and approve test cases, test scenarios, and automation scripts created by the team.
  • Drive and oversee manual and automated test execution for desktop and mobile applications.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks using Java, Appium, and Sikuli.
  • Analyze automation results, debug failures, and ensure consistent and stable automation pipelines.
  • Identify areas for test automation and improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, UX designers, and system teams to ensure seamless delivery of app releases.
  • Participate in sprint planning, requirement discussions, and design reviews.
  • Communicate risk, quality metrics, and release readiness to stakeholders.
  • Enforce QA best practices, standards, and guidelines across teams.
  • Track and reduce bug leakage rates through proactive test strategy improvements.
  • Continuously evaluate QA processes and drive improvements in tools, automation, and methodologies.
  • Ensure all releases are delivered on time, with the expected quality and minimal defects.
  • Coordinate with build/release engineering teams for deployment and validation.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for defects, ensuring preventive measures are implemented.

 

 

Required skills and Experience : 

  • 7+ years of experience in Software Testing, including 3+ years leading QA efforts or teams.
  • Strong expertise in desktop application testing (Windows/Mac/Linux platforms).
  • Hands-on automation experience using:
    • Java (mandatory)
    • Appium (mobile automation)
    • Sikuli (desktop automation using image-based techniques)
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

 

Experience required     :    Minimum 7 + years in storage related segments 

Minimum Qualifications :     BE / B Tech / ME / M Tech / MS
