A System Test Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of a software system or product. Their primary responsibility is to design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases to validate that the system or product meets the specified requirements and functions correctly under various conditions. Here's an overview of the job responsibilities and skills required for a System Test Engineer:
Responsibilities:
- Planning and preparation of manual and automated test cases
- Analysis of requirements and review of software designs
- Creation of test specifications
- Execution of functional and non-functional tests
- Documentation and processing of test results
- Recording of errors and support of error management as well as error analysis
- Creation of automated regression tests as well as their maintenance and expansion
- Support in the evaluation of test results
- Close cooperation and communication with developers and software architects during test preparation and execution
- Support of the acceptance test by the department
- Preparation of acceptance decisions for production deployments
Requirements:
- Experience as an IT tester, if possible with knowledge in test automation with common tools such as Selenium, SOAP UI, Postman etc.
- Experience in test automation, especially in the area of API testing
- Experience in load and performance testing & E2E tests
- Good knowledge of common test methods and their possible applications
- Analytical thinking and independent work
- Strong communication skills
- Good SQL knowledge
- Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence
- Experience with version control and CI/CD tools like gitlab/GitHub
- ISTQB certification
- Experience with BSS/OSS in the telecommunications industry
- Experience in working in agile teams
- English language is required.
