Description

We are looking for a talented Test Engineer – Senior (On-site) to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Seymour, IN.Β

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

  • Role Expectations:Β This role is 100% on-site.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Serve as a Manufacturing Engineer within the Engine Test segment of the SEP business, providing technical leadership and hands-on support for mechanical machinery, engine control systems, cell control systems, and associated equipment.
  • Engage directly with both new and existing machinery and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provide dynamic support for projects across the broader test area, adapting to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Apply expertise in engine control systems (such as Comptek) and computer programming/control to enhance testing processes and system functionality.
  • Demonstrate initiative by independently identifying, prioritizing, and executing projects, while effectively resolving moderate to complex technical challenges.
  • Perform daily activities including process review, modification, approval, and implementation; lead functional project support for ER, PQP, RFT, BIS, and HSE issue resolution; troubleshoot machine issues involving PLCs and engine control systems; and coordinate implementation of new processes and equipment.
  • Lead implementation of new option changes for assigned equipment/areas, oversee mechanical cell repair and design modifications (including fluid systems, fixturing, and driveline subsystems), and collaborate closely with Skilled Trades during repair and troubleshooting activities.
  • Partner with suppliers to source, design, and implement new equipment and machinery; support production assembly operations; participate in design reviews and cross-functional initiatives to drive plant improvements and achieve operational goals.
  • Provide direct supervisory oversight for 1–3 hourly Advanced Manufacturing Associates (AMA), ensuring alignment with area objectives and fostering team development.
