Your Role & Responsibilities

As the Test Lead, youโ€™ll play a central role in ensuring the success of this integration. You will:

ย 

Test Strategy & Planning
โ€ข Define and own the overall test strategy and approach for the enterprise-wide integration.
โ€ข Scope the project as it relates to test roles, responsibilities, and schedules.
โ€ข Develop and maintain test plans, test scenarios, and test cases aligned with both business and technical requirements.
โ€ข Establish SIT and UAT readiness criteria, timelines, checkpoints, and entry/exit requirements.
โ€ข Coordinate data preparation, environment setup, and access provisioning to support test execution.

Test Execution Leadership
โ€ข Lead, coordinate, and oversee all System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
โ€ข Facilitate daily test stand-ups and defect triage sessions.
โ€ข Coordinate with expert business users who will create and execute the majority of test scripts.
โ€ข Ensure full validation of end-to-end business processes across integrated systems.
โ€ข Partner closely with business, and vendor teams.

Defect & Quality Management
โ€ข Manage the entire defect lifecycleโ€”logging, prioritization, assignment, escalation, retesting, and closure.
โ€ข Track and report key quality metrics including execution progress, defect trends, and risk indicators.
โ€ข Collaborate with development and integration teams to expedite defect resolution.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
โ€ข Deliver clear, concise, and data-driven status updates to project leadership and key business stakeholders.
โ€ข Prepare dashboards, summaries, and go/no-go recommendations suitable for executive audiences.
โ€ข Serve as the primary testing point of contact for program leadership.

Process, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
โ€ข Maintain testing documentation, standards, templates, and processes.
โ€ข Contribute to cutover planning and post-implementation validation activities.
โ€ข Identify opportunities to enhance testing approaches and drive ongoing improvement.

Skills & Experience You Should Possess

  • 8+ years as a Manual Test Lead
  • 3+ years as a Test Lead or Test Manager
  • Strong background in test planning, execution, and management for system integrations or major implementations
  • Demonstrated expertise leading both SIT and UAT cycles
  • Experience with defect tracking, triage, and reporting using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or ALM
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate functional and technical requirements into clear test coverage
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to both technical and business audiences
  • Ability to lead and coordinate work across distributed teams, vendors, and business SMEs.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Background supporting IT conversions, system implementations, or enterprise transformation programs
  • Energy market or electric utility experience.

Education & Certifications You Need

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or a related field preferred
  • Relevant testing or QA certifications (ISTQB, CSTE, etc.) are a plus but not required.
