Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer experienced in automation testing with a strong background in healthcare payer applications.
The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of mission-critical payer systems β€” including claims processing, eligibility, provider management, enrollment, authorizations, and member portals.

This role requires hands-on expertise in test automation frameworks, API and UI testing, and a deep understanding of payer workflows, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare data standards such as X12 EDI, HL7, and FHIR.
You will collaborate closely with development, business, and product teams to define test strategies and drive continuous quality improvements across both Azure-based microservices and legacy .NET applications.

Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for healthcare payer systems.
Analyze business and functional requirements to determine appropriate testing scope and automation coverage.
Ensure all testing efforts align with HIPAA, HITECH, and payer system data privacy standards.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define acceptance criteria and testing approaches.

Design and develop automated test scripts for UI, API, and backend validation using tools such as:
Selenium / Cypress / Playwright (UI)
Postman / RestAssured (API)
SpecFlow / Cucumber (BDD frameworks)
Implement test automation for regression, smoke, and integration testing within CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps / Jenkins.
Build and maintain data-driven test frameworks leveraging reusable components and environment-independent test design.
Create and execute API-level automation for REST, SOAP, and FHIR services.
Perform test environment setup, including mock services, test data generation, and test environment validation.

Conduct functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing for both new and existing features.
Validate payer workflows such as claims lifecycle, eligibility verification, authorizations, enrollment, and EOB generation.
Perform data validation and reconciliation testing between payer core systems and external interfaces.
Execute cross-system integration testing involving external vendors, EDI gateways, and partner APIs.

Technical Skills

Languages / Tools: C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python for automation scripting
Automation Frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, SpecFlow, Cucumber, TestNG, or NUnit
API Testing: Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, RestAssured
Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, or Azure SQL – strong in writing complex SQL queries for data validation
CI/CD: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI
Cloud Platforms: Azure (preferred) – experience testing applications deployed on Azure App Service, AKS, or Azure Functions
Defect Tracking & Test Management: JIRA, Azure DevOps Test Plans, Zephyr, or TestRail
Performance Testing: JMeter, BlazeMeter, or k6 (preferred)
Version Control: Git / Bitbucket
