Join Our Team as an IT Test Lead – Lifecycle Management!

Group IT provides technology strategy, governance, delivery, and support for all of Toll. The team enables Toll with the right technology foundations and business systems to grow the business and support our customer needs.

About the Role:

The Test Lead will be responsible for leading end-to-end testing activities across multiple projects and platforms. This role will own testing strategy, planning, execution, and reporting for allocated projects – ensuring robust, scalable, and high-quality solution outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in test automation, performance testing, and stakeholder engagement across the software development lifecycle.

This is a fixed term contract to July 2026 based in Melbourne.

As an IT Test Lead, you will:

  • Lead testing strategy and execution across multiple enterprise projects and platforms.
  • Manage testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements validation to post-deployment verification.
  • Champion test automation and performance testing using tools like JMeter and Python.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed testing into CI/CD pipelines for rapid and reliable releases.
  • Drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders, ensuring scenario definition, execution, and sign-off.
  • Mentor junior testers and offshore QA teams, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

To be successful as an IT Test Lead, you will need to:

  • Demonstrate over 5 years of experience in software testing, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Show expertise in integration platforms (e.g., webMethods, Mulesoft, Workato) and automation tools (JMeter, Python).
  • Have strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and Agile/hybrid methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).
  • Be skilled in leading UAT and influencing stakeholders at both technical and executive levels.
  • Be proficient in test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Zephyr, TestRail), with experience in risk-based testing and compliance.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to produce high-quality documentation and reports.

About You:

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
  • ISTQB Test Manager or similar qualification.
  • Agile/Scrum certification and/or SAFe Agilist accreditation (desirable).
  • PMP, PMI-ACP or equivalent program management certification (well regarded).

Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years in software testing, with 2+ years in a test leadership role.
  • Proven leadership in testing integration platforms and automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile/hybrid models.
  • Skilled in UAT leadership and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficient in test management tools and risk-based testing.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
