Solution Validation Services (SVS) is an organization within Cisco Customer Experience (CX) focused on validating complex customer-specific networks and accelerating adoption of new technologies and solutions.
As part of the SVS team, you will help drive Cisco CX growth by designing next generation solution validation labs and by validating these solutions for Enterprise and SP customers. You will also help inform customers about trending network technologies and drive accelerated adoption of new technologies and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
In this highly visible customer facing role as Solution Validation Services Consulting Engineer, you will:
· Engage with customers and other Cisco stakeholders on successful planning and execution of validation engagements.
· Support next generation R&S, Data Center, and Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.
· Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.
· Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and execute test plans, and document results.
· Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
· Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments.
· Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams regarding future initiatives and securing customer business.
· Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.
· Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
· Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.
Skill Requirements
Candidates must have deep technical expertise with Core routing and switching, Service Provider technologies, and preferably automation technologies. Candidates must also have strong customer interaction, troubleshooting, and consulting skills. They must be able to articulate complex concepts in
easy-to-understand language. Candidates must be proficient in customer facing discussions as well as the technologies listed above. Typically requires BS plus 4-5+ years related experience, or a MS with 2-3 years of related experience.
· Customer Facing experience
· Previous experience in a customer support or TAC-style role
· 3+ year of experience with DNAC/SDA
· Very good understanding and experience on Linux/Unix (Ubuntu/RHEL/CentOS).
· Understanding and experience of Docker and Kubernetes design and troubleshooting deployments based on containerized environments.
· Understanding and basic knowledge on networking skills(switching/Routing/Wireless)
· Working knowledge in yang models, configuration management, and operational models.
· Strong Written and Verbal skills.
Other Requirements
· Network programmability (Python, Netconf, Yang)
· Basic Programming/Scripting Skill (preferably Python)
· Knowledge of designing dynamic large-scale, multi-tenant, distributed systems using Java/Cloud (AWS, Azure) environments
· Preferred exposure to Cisco Wireless products (WLC & APs) OR Cisco Catalyst platforms (Cat3k, Cat6k and/or Cat9k)
· Understanding of Campus Architectures, Software Defined Networking (SDN) & Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
· Preferably a CCNA/CCNP certification
· Proficient with Industry Test Tools; Spirent or Ixia preferred
· Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation)
· Ability and experience debugging and troubleshooting complex network problems
