Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Lead β Automation to drive end-to-end automation strategy across UI, API, and system integration testing, while leading a team of 5 -6 automation engineers. This role requires a strong hands-on technical leader with proven people management skills, capable of working closely with Product, UX, Development, and DevOps teams in a fast-paced agile environment.
The ideal candidate will balance technical depth, leadership, and delivery ownership, while continuously improving quality practices and automation maturity.

Key Responsibilities
Technical & Automation Leadership
- Own and drive the UI automation strategy using Playwright or Puppeteer.
- Design, build, and review scalable automation frameworks using JavaScript / TypeScript.
- Lead API automation using Rest Assured and/or Karate.
- Drive System Integration Testing (SIT) by understanding complex integrated systems and deriving robust end-to-end test scenarios.
- Enable task and test automation using Python/Java scripting.
- Ensure automation coverage across web and mobile applications, aligned to business and UX workflows.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliability, maintainability, and reporting.
- Perform technical reviews and enforce best practices in automation design, code quality, and test stability.

People Management & Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of approximately 5-6 automation engineers.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and regular feedback to support career growth and skill development.
- Own team planning, task allocation, and delivery commitments.
- Act as an escalation point for technical, quality, and delivery challenges.
- Foster a strong culture of quality ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, UX Designers, Developers, and DevOps teams to embed quality early (shift-left).
- Review UX/UI implementations and proactively identify usability, accessibility, and consistency gaps.
- Clearly communicate automation status, quality risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
- Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, release planning, and quality governance forums.

Process & Continuous Improvement
- Champion Agile and DevOps testing practices.
- Continuously evaluate and introduce new tools, technologies, and testing approaches.
- Drive root cause analysis for defects and automation failures, ensuring long-term corrective actions.
- Adapt quickly to fast-paced and dynamic work environments.

Required Skills & Experience
Core Automation & Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with UI automation using Playwright or Puppeteer.
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of API automation using Rest Assured and/or Karate.
- Experience in task and test automation using Python / Java scripting.
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS).
- Experience with tools such as Maven, Git, Docker, and Postman.
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries using Snowflake and/or PostgreSQL for test validation and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of integrated systems and system-level testing.
