Role Overview:

We require an ERP Test Manager for our higher education client, with previous experience of working on large ERP system implementation programmes within a Finance programme and experience of the ERP System Unit4.

The Client has a strategic project where they are transforming their finance system, specifically the Agresso system to a cloud based environment.

As the Test Manager you will lead and coordinate testing activities across the Unit4 ERP CR implementation programme.

The role will be responsible for defining and managing the overall testing approach across all functional workstreams, ensuring structured execution of testing cycles including Integrated System Testing (IST) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

To coordinate testing activities between functional teams, the implementation partner and internal stakeholders to ensure that system functionality, integrations and data operate as expected prior to go-live.

The role will provide oversight of testing progress, issue management and defect resolution, ensuring testing outcomes are clearly documented, prioritised and communicated across the programme.

The programme includes multiple functional workstreams and approximately 26 system integrations, which will require structured coordination of testing activities to ensure successful end-to-end system validation.

Essential Skills & Experience required

Experience managing testing on ERP or large enterprise system implementation programmes with previous Unit4 experience - essential

Experience coordinating testing across multiple functional workstreams.

Strong experience managing defect triage and resolution processes.

Experience coordinating testing activities between internal teams and implementation partners.

Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to structure and implement testing governance processes.

Desirable

Experience managing testing across complex integration landscapes.

Experience working with test management tools such as Azure DevOps or similar platforms.

Experience coordinating testing cycles including IST and UAT.

Key Responsibilities

Define and maintain the overall testing approach for the ERP programme.

Develop structured testing plans covering:

Integrated System Testing (IST)

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Define testing governance including:

Defect management processes

Issue prioritisation

Test execution reporting

Ensure testing activities align with programme timelines and key delivery milestones.

Test Coordination across Workstreams

Coordinate testing activities across all functional workstreams including:

• Finance
• Procurement & AP
• Sales & AR
• Budgeting
• Inventory
• Projects
• Expenses
• Assets
• Integrations

Ensure each workstream has:

• Support SME’s to create a suite of defined test scenarios
• prepared test data where appropriate
• clear responsibilities for test execution.

Facilitate cross-workstream testing where business processes span multiple functional areas.

Establish and manage the process for logging, triaging and prioritising testing defects.

Track issues identified during testing and coordinate resolution with the relevant teams including:

• functional consultants
• integration teams
• the Unit4 implementation partner
• Ensure defects are clearly documented and prioritised according to business impact.

Provide oversight of defect resolution progress throughout testing cycles.

Provide oversight of integration testing across the programme.

You will also work closely with the ERP Integration Delivery Analyst to ensure:

• integration testing is planned and executed
• integration defects are captured and prioritised
• end-to-end processes involving integrations are validated.

Ensure testing results from integrations are incorporated into overall testing progress and reporting.

Test Execution Monitoring

Track overall testing progress across all workstreams.

Provide regular updates to programme leadership on testing progress, risks and readiness for the next phase of delivery.

Define and manage the tools used to track testing activities and defects.

This may include platforms such as:

• Azure DevOps
• test tracking spreadsheets
• defect management tools

Ensure a clear and consistent approach to test tracking is adopted across the programme.
