The Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) Programme is a major industry transformation initiative led by Ofgem and delivered by industry parties, aiming to introduce half-hourly electricity settlement for all customers in Great Britain. The programme is a critical enabler for the UKβs net zero ambitions, supporting smarter energy use and more efficient system operation.
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Test Manager to cover parental leave and support the planning, coordination, and execution of testing across one or more MHHS programme phases. The role will be integral to ensuring that systems, processes, and interfaces meet the expected standards and industry requirements ahead of go-live. You will also own the assurance of UWβs end-to-end smart meter and related energy systems.Β
You will need to be an experienced Test Lead or Manager and be able to demonstrate technical skills and aptitude, have a passion for getting to the root cause of issues, and the drive to find solutions. We are looking for someone with solid experience in SDLC and experience working with smart metering hardware. You will have:

This role reports to our Energy Programme Manager and will manager a small team of testers. You'll work closely with our internal commercial and technology teams as well as external parties such as hardware and firmware vendors, Smart DCC and other 3rd party suppliers.

You will manage a team of testers and play a key part in the overall delivery of energy department projects and enduring service performance.
This role will focus on supporting our MHHS and smart meter implementation projects and ongoing DCC adapter and device firmware release assurance.
