Test Manager - Life Insurance
AheadGroupAhead Group is seeking a Test Manager with extensive experience in the insurance domain to join a global IT consulting leader. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end testing activities, manage test environments, coordinate with stakeholders in both English and Japanese, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions in life insurance-related projects.
Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, and scenarios
β’ Lead functional and non-functional testing activities across the full test cycle (planning, preparation, execution, reporting)
β’ Collaborate with application owners, test managers, and UAT teams to ensure alignment
β’ Serve as the primary contact for test environment management and coordinate with environment teams to ensure stability and currency
β’ Demonstrate test coverage and obtain client sign-off
β’ Manage continuous automation for SIT and regression testing
β’ Publish daily and weekly status reports, track risks and issues to closure
β’ Review business requirements early to identify defects
β’ Guide test teams on insurance-related projects and ensure test data provisioning
β’ Communicate with native Japanese stakeholders to plan and coordinate all test activities
Required Skills:
β’ 10β12+ years of experience in test management, preferably in the insurance domain
β’ Proven track record delivering large-scale, multi-application projects
β’ Deep understanding of life insurance processes including policy quote, origination, claims, underwriting, and administration
β’ JLPT N3 certification or higher
β’ Proficiency in tools such as Azure, ALM, Jira, and Confluence
β’ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
β’ Experience managing project milestones, planning, and financials
β’ Familiarity with the latest testing tools and best practices
β’ Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese
Desired Skills:
β’ Certifications such as LOMA 290/301 or Japanese insurance-related credentials
β’ Experience in both functional and automation testing leadership
β’ Background in managing multi-cultural, geographically distributed teams
